WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a manager to lead a team that delivers the Strategic Events Program (SEP) and Center of Excellence (COE) for the GPS Event capability. This role will have shared responsibility for the design, implementation and management of the COE that has responsibility for event strategy, standards, policy, processes, and success metrics for our Events teams, globally. In addition, they will have oversight of the Self-Service Events Program. We need someone that can build relationships, influence stakeholders, and identify opportunities garnered from feedback.
The candidate must have experience in corporate meetings and events, with the proven ability to combine industry’s best practices, their own experiences, and the needs of Nike to deliver an optimized Event program that ties to our global strategies.

The GPS team will leverage systems, design thinking, and key partnerships across the Nike matrix and the industry to bring Nike to the forefront of new ways of working. GPS will serve as an enterprise catalyst under the CFO, helping to lead change, strengthen its global operations and accelerate progress toward Nike’s strategic objectives and in support of our strategic offense.
Within GPS, the Global Events team enables Nike teams to come together to deliver on business objectives and create the future through a professionally managed meetings and events program. This role will be a team leader with direct reports and is part of a larger team that has responsibility for both running the “business of events” and event execution. If this is you, you will be part of the GPS Services Team, reporting to the Senior Manager of Global Events and collaborating closely with your GPS Events peers across the globe.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
If this is you, you will be a member of the Global Events team and will have oversight and execution responsibilities for tasks like:
Lead, coach and mentor direct reports; monitor performance and have regular check-ins regarding areas of opportunity for growth and developmentPartner with leadership to develop the global roadmap and prioritization of deliverables for the GPS Events Center of ExcellenceCreate and optimize GPS Events processes, standards, and SOPs for adoption by GPS Events teams globallyAuthor and deploy a Global Events Policy; create communications and continuous monitoring programAct as a SME and stay updated on emerging industry trends; translate insights into new ways of operatingWork with existing supply chain partnerships (hotel, sourcing partner, etc.) and cultivate new relationships where necessaryWork in partnership with GPS Intelligence to develop global metrics for the Events capability to showcase the value of the programCreate a process and cadence for continuous improvement reviews and instil the mindset across the teamWHAT YOU BRING
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, experience or trainingA minimum of eight years in the Events/Hospitality industryManagement experience with direct reportsHas built and implemented a program or is deeply knowledgeable in the discipline of Strategic Meetings ManagementExperience with supplier management across various Hospitality Industry categoriesUnderstanding of and exercised success in change managementProven ability to work in a matrixed, cross-functional environment to accomplish goals with a collaborative approachStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and drive change; comfortable in settings that include Senior LeadershipModels’ leadership qualities to promote a positive and inspiring team environmentWe are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment for all employees and job applicants.
