Strategic Initiatives Analyst II
**Overview:** Works closely with Strategic Initiatives team to support non-routine key initiatives. Supports design, planning and implementation for time-sensitive, critical, programs and/or projects. Supports facilitation of industry groups that meet regularly to share best practices and promote industry advocacy efforts. **Primary Responsibilities:** + Support planning and implementing new projects, products, programs and initiatives to achieve short and long-term business objectives and strategic outcomes. + Lead effort to maintain project documentation. Develop comprehensive documentation that aligns with regulatory expectations as required. + Assist the team in addressing problems/solutions, risks and issues. Analyze information, determine feasible solutions, and articulate recommendations to project team. Apply critical thinking to independently navigate problems and issues. + Develop and produce basic ad-hoc and automated departmental analyses and reports, including workflow, project and strategic analysis and trend reporting. + Distill information and create an executive summary to drive action. + Adhere to all standards and procedures ensuring high quality work and that efforts are appropriately and accurately documented. + Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management. + Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand. + Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable. + Complete other related duties as assigned. **Education and Experience Required:** + Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 6 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience + Strong attention to detail + Experience working independently and functioning as a member of a team + Strong analytical ability + Creative problem-solving skills + Strong interpersonal skills + Strong written and verbal communication skills + Self-motivated + Results-driven + Well-organized + Experience handling multiple tasks and working under time constraints in support of various assignments + Proficient with personal computers and pertinent spreadsheet, database, graphing, and presentation software **Education and Experience Preferred:** + Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Math, Accounting, Engineering, or Business Administration + Banking/financial industry experience + Six Sigma, Lean or Process Improvement, or project management-related education + Experience with SQL, programming and statistical software + Experience with financial, regulatory and/or process analysis, and technical writing + Curious and innovative M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $60,890.34 - $101,483.90 Annual (USD).
