We are searching for a dynamic and experienced Strategic Events Manager to join the marketing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and managing a wide range of events that align with our strategic goals and enhance our brand presence and is in line with our corporate event playbook. This role requires a creative thinker with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Working closely with our Commercial Sales team and understanding our corporate and commercial goals, you will strategize the events we will attend that align with our modalities and services.

Main Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a comprehensive events strategy that supports the company’s business objectives.(10%)Provide strategic direction to the FDB events core team and lead strategic planning for each event, ensuring strategy and objectives are being incorporated at every point in planning process. Also establishing strategic communications & liaise with Communications team. (10%)Lead the events core team to plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of events, including conferences and trade shows. Define ingoing assumptions about key elements of the event; align on key stakeholders / decision-makers. (20%)Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless event execution.(10%)Manage event budgets, negotiate contracts, and ensure cost-effective solutions. (5%)Provide oversight on event logistics, including venue selection, catering, transportation, and accommodation.(10%)Collaborate with Digital Marketing Manager and Social Media Manager to create and manage event marketing campaigns to drive attendance and engagement.(5%)Analyze conference performance and provide detailed reports on outcomes and ROI(10%)Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve event strategies.(10%)Engage with and manage corporate memberships of Industry Associations (eg BIO, BIA, DCAT, MassBio etc), ensuring FDB maximises the benefits of membership including attendance at IA events and utilizing purchasing consortia benefits.(10%)All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Required

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or a related field.5+ years experience in event planning and management, preferably within the CDMO or pharmaceutical industry.Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in event management software and tools.Creative problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

To successfully perform the role of a Strategic Events Manager a broad range of knowledge, skills, and experience is essential. key areas are: 

Knowledge Event Management: Deep understanding of event planning, execution, and evaluation processes. Biotechnology Industry: Familiarity with the biopharmaceutical manufacturing sector, including industry trends. Marketing and Branding: Knowledge of marketing principles and branding strategies to promote events effectively. Skills Project Management: Proficiency in planning, organizing, and managing resources to achieve specific goals. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with stakeholders, vendors, and team members. Budget Management: Ability to create and manage budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources. Creative Thinking: Innovative approach to designing unique and engaging event experiences. Risk Management: Skills in identifying potential risks and developing contingency plans. Negotiation: Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with vendors and partners. Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with event management software and digital tools for virtual and hybrid events.Cross Collaboration: Experience and ability to work across multiple functions and incorporate the business needs into the overall strategy.Experience Event Planning: Proven experience in planning and executing large-scale events, preferably in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry. Vendor Management: Experience in managing relationships with vendors and suppliers. Team Leadership: Experience in leading and coordinating cross-functional teams. Stakeholder Engagement: Experience in engaging with internal and external stakeholders to align event objectives with business goals. 

The US salary range for this position is $115,000.00 to $150,000.00 Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
