We have an opportunity for a Strategic Marketing Manager - Automation & Sanitizers to join our Cary, NC team. You will be responsible for developing and managing customer-centric integrated marketing and business growth strategies for the Automation & Sanitizers category. Driving Commercialization Excellence, they will work closely with Category General Managers and their respective teams in Product Management, IOT & Engineering throughout the New Product Development (NPD) and New Product Introduction (NPI) phases to ensure insight- and benefit-drive launches are executed well. They will be accountable for monitoring, tracking, and reporting on success metrics; and analyzing the data to help guide short- and long-term strategy for their category.
You will:
Accountable for creating the New Product Introduction (NPI) Marketing Plan for all product launches strategically thinking through the GTM storyline and the experiences along the customer journey at awareness, conversion, and loyalty.Lead the frontloading marketing direction for new product launches for Automation & Sanitizers working closely with Insights, Product, IOT & Engineering to develop benefit-driven products, user stories, key claims and roadmaps based on insights, market opportunities and trends ensuring the technical direction is in line with our customers’ expectations.Support and creatively deploy tactics to monetize the value prop over the lifetime of the offering to drive monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue.Help facilitate usability testing (product +app), product sampling, product reviews and feedback, analyzing the data for refining messaging, support materials and additional pre- and post-launch assets.Facilitate the prioritization of product and app user stories to deliver best-in-class customer and consumer experiences.Responsible for developing the annual and 3–5-year marketing plan and NPI calendar for this category, in collaboration with the Category Product team, leading the marketing commercialization efforts.Build and maintain the strategic brand framework for your category (i.e., positioning the brands, brand, and digital visual language, assisting M&A strategy, defining good-better-best, and identifying key functional and emotional benefit and differentiation areas) Accountable for the product messaging/positioning and value based on customer segmentation and personas, working closely with Insights, Brand and Content Marketing, and ProductServe as the translators of intense technical and business subject-matter expertise from product management.Help plan and navigate a complex brand and channel strategy for aftermarket categories dependent on core product lifecycles with attachment across the customer journey.Accountable for the training strategy framework working closely with sales and technical training, and customer service to ensure a strong level of confidence in your category and on NPIs.Actively seek Voice of the Customer and Competitive insights data; visit customers and engage end-users to drive strategic focus & category leadership; synthesize the data and share out to cross-functional partners.Plan and utilize market analysis, including end-customer segmentation, identifying target end market opportunities to for growth (including white spaces and new channel expansion), and deliver marketing strategies to turn opportunities into executable growth plans and business strategy.Influences pricing, promotional & rebate policies working closely with product and channel partners.Partners with cross-functional NPD team to rapidly optimize commercialization process.Serve as the Category Marketing SME assisting internal and external sales enablement including training, customer sales pitches, trade show support, and category spokesperson as needed.Uses analytics to track and report NPI KPIs and ensure success metrics are being met.Perform other duties, as required.Key Qualifications:
BS or BA degree in business marketing or communications required; MBA preferred.7+ years of experience as a Marketing professionalExperience with two step-distribution (B2B2C) and dealer marketing and channel developmentProven record of driving revenue and growing volumes for products and/or services businessProven experience in developing strategic marketing plans, including marketing strategy, strategic marketing planning, new product development roadmap development.Advanced expertise in data-driven market intelligence: actionable Voice of Customer collection, market segmentation, competitor analysis, etc.; experience with driving analytical insights to achieve commercial success is highly preferred.Experience commercializing new products with connected consumer experiences (i.e., products connected via apps)Successful working in teams developing integrated marketing communications plans and lead generation tactics.Experience in analyzing marketing and sales data and using metrics to evaluate, demonstrate, and support decision-making.Experience in managing complex, long-range projects with multiple resources and stakeholders.Raleigh or Charlotte area preferred.Travel Required: up to 25%.Compensation:
For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $110,700 $205,600 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs.
This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as annual incentive bonus.
