Job Title: Strategic Planner
Job Description

The Strategic Planner is responsible for the tactical planning and management of actions within our strategic roadmap. This role requires a strong ability to develop and maintain relationships with Deputy Program Managers (DPMs) and Program Account Managers (PAMs), who are primary customers for the strategy organization. The Strategic Planner will work closely with the Director for Strategy and Engineering (Dir/S&E) to ensure alignment of strategic goals with operational plans.

ResponsibilitiesPartner with the Dir/S&E to develop, maintain, and communicate a comprehensive strategic plan that supports the Strategic Systems Programs' objectivesCollaborate with DPMs and PAMs to understand their needs and translate them into actionable strategies with well-defined use cases and deliverablesManage the execution of strategic initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with overall business goalsMonitor progress against strategic plans, identify potential issues, and recommend corrective actionsPrepare regular reports on strategy project status, performance metrics, and recommendations for improvementFoster a culture of strategic thinking and planning within the SSP programEssential SkillsBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferredProven experience (2 years) in strategic planning, project management, or a similar roleStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insightsExcellent communication and relationship-building skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management toolsAbility to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectivelyAgile environment experienceAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience working with large-scale engineering programsKnowledge of submarine weapon systems or strategic systems programsStrong leadership and mentoring capabilitiesWork Environment

This position requires onsite presence in Rockville, MD following a 3-2-1 policy: 3 days onsite, 2 of those days must be Tuesday and Wednesday, and 1 day of your choosing. The SSP Program is a long-term project funded until 2084, offering stability and growth opportunities. Our team is expected to grow significantly, with plans to double staff to over 600 engineers in the next six years.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $58.75/hr.
