Strategic Planning Analyst

The Strategic Planning Analyst, under general supervision, develops, communicates and helps implement strategies to drive growth. The analyst conducts research and performs quantitative analysis in support of elements of the overall strategy, markets strategies, practices expansions and organizational performance improvement initiatives, etc. The analyst facilitates process improvement, performs business analytics and contributes to strategic business development. The analyst collects and analyzes data to support those initiatives.

GENERAL DUTIES

In collaboration with team members and leaders across the organization, helps solve for data and analytic requirements to enable the organization to meet its strategic plans.

Conducts complex analysis on large data sets and develops regular and ad-hoc reports and dynamic financial models for hospital leadership to facilitate decision making. Assists in the compilation of market and operational analyses in coordination with department leadership to support the budget and strategic planning process. Identifies trends and opportunities for gaining competitive advantage in the marketplace.

Supports the executives and senior leadership in analyzing data and driving performance.

Assists in the preparation of the operating budget and associated analysis related to volume and FTE budget. Works with departmental leaders as needed to assist with completion of departmental volume and FTE budgets. Produces and distributes volume and FTE budget reports and documentation.

Forecasts revenues and expenses and researches ways to enhance hospital revenues and control costs. Assists in the implementation of financial improvements and tracks achievement of objectives.

Prepares financial and statistical reports and monitors trends and variances. Prepares reports identifying differences between current actual results, budgeted targets and prior year actual results. Prepares financial documentation for external parties including benchmarking entities, auditors and others.

Performs any special projects as required. Contributes by providing insights and analysis.


EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

1 year of experience finance or a business-related healthcare field.


EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Healthcare Administration.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Technology savvy: excellent understanding of processes and databases.

Can manipulate large data sets and analyze findings.

Adept at Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Project management, analytic and financial analysis, strategic thinking, and strong business acumen.

Knowledge of forecasting methods and budgeting processes/principles.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing is essential.

Tableau platform experience.
