Strategic Planning Analyst I
Join a top employer and advance your career. Aplin has partnered with a Downtown Edmonton based company to hire a Strategic Planning Analyst for a 3 month contract with potential of extension! 
 
 Responsibilities:Conduct detailed analysis of Business Census data, ensuring accuracy by identifying and correcting errors in coding and formatting.Apply correct North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes to business data for consistency and accuracy.Prepare and deliver ad hoc reports, incorporating both qualitative and quantitative data as required by stakeholders.Regularly update pre-existing Google Sheets with new data entries, ensuring timely and accurate information management.Integrate updated Google Sheets with Tableau, maintaining consistency in data flow and visualizations.Publish Tableau dashboards with updated data, ensuring accuracy and relevance for decision-makers.Collaborate with the Accessibility team to review and improve the accessibility of Tableau dashboards, making necessary adjustments based on feedback and compliance standards.Support the creation and maintenance of data dashboards, providing insights and visualizations to assist with strategic decision-making.Liaise with internal teams to ensure that data and reporting align with organizational goals and objectives.Stay up to date with industry best practices for data management, analytics, and visualization tools.Communicate findings and insights from data analysis in a clear, actionable format for non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Prior experience in a technically skilled administrative role with a focus on data analytics is preferred.Proficiency in using Google applications, particularly Google Sheets and Google Drive, for data management and collaboration.Strong technical experience with Tableau for data visualization and dashboard creation, including integration with Google Sheets.Knowledge of North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes and experience applying them to business data.Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to work with large datasets and identify trends, discrepancies, and actionable insights.Strong attention to detail in ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and proper formatting.Experience in generating reports and compiling data for ad hoc projects and regular updates.Familiarity with accessibility standards, particularly in data visualization, with the ability to adapt dashboards for compliance.Ability to work independently in an office environment, with strong time management skills to meet deadlines.Strong communication skills, able to present data findings clearly to a range of audiences.Available to start right away!
