Strategic Planning & Operations Senior Manager
**What you will do**
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be primarily focused on leading Site Selection, Business Cases, and New Product Introductions (NPI) into external manufacturing and supplier sites. This individual will report to the Associate Director of the PSE team.
The successful candidate will lead multiple complex site selection and business case assessments, drive Technology Transfer activities for NPIs, and lead and advance business process development and execution. Specific responsibilities include:
+ Lead complex site selections and business cases with cross functional team from Operations, Quality, Process Development, Contracting, Supply Chain, Analytical Sciences and Global Strategic Sourcing. Specific activities for each assessment may include:
+ Landscape assessment and strategy development for CDMOs to be included in specific assessments
+ Leading and managing Request for Proposal development to define the scope of the work to be assessed and adequately communicate it to potential CDMOs
+ Facilitate cross functional assessment of CDMO proposals to provide a recommendation of the CDMO that best aligns with program needs and Amgen expectations
+ Coordinate and execute due diligence assessment of potential CDMOs
+ Work with finance and project controls teams to ensure accurate financial analysis of identified options
+ Facilitate cross functional options risk assessment
+ Present site selection team or business case recommendations to senior leadership
+ Lead complex new product introduction technology transfer activities for new launches or programs tech transferring into CDMOs or suppliers by coordinating execution of cross functional workstreams. Including:
+ Build and maintain project plans and team assignments using project planning tools, estimating project cost and adhering to budget, identifying resource needs, performing project reviews, and escalating functional, quality, timeline and cost issues appropriately.
+ Utilize project management processes, software and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations.
+ Handle communication with all areas of the enterprise that impact scope, budget, risk and resources of the work being managed and provide project updates and reporting to executive leadership and internal partners.
+ Lead continuous improvement projects that deliver measurable gain in quality, efficiency and alignment within Amgen priorities. Apply the knowledge, skills, tools of project management and operational perfection to ensure efficient execution of projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Advance business processes related to executing on Site Selection, Business Cases, and Technology Transfer to ensure reliable, efficient, and consistent execution of these processes by cross functional teams.
+ Develop and lead execution of strategies and business process to support External Supply goals

**Basic Qualifications:**
+ High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Project Management experience; Or
+ Associate’s degree and 10 years of Project Management experience; Or
+ Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Project Management experience; Or
+ Master’s degree and 4 years of Project Management experience; Or
+ Doctorate degree and 2 years of Project Management experience
**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Masters degree in business administration, Science, Engineering or other related field.
+ Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in pharmaceutical or biotech technology transfer frameworks, standards, and best practices.
+ Demonstrated knowledge of project financial assessment processes.
+ Experience with complex project management tools and execution.
+ Ability to travel +/- 20% of time (domestic and international).
+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
+ Possesses strong management skills with a clear-headed approach to problem-solving and decision-making under pressure or ambiguity.
+ Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically to support key business decisions.
+ Excellent analytical skills—ability to translate disparate and ambiguous data sets into impactful insights and recommendations and then use them to drive business performance
+ Strong oral, written and presentation skills with ability to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences
+ Proficient facilitation, negotiation, problem-solving and change management skills
+ Superior ability to work in a self-directed manner while balancing a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and contending demands
+ Leadership skills to lead, manage, mentor, and coach to develop team members and lead cross functional teams

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
