Job Title

Strategic Project Manager

Oversee and manage all aspects of large, strategically significant, technically complex projects, from start to finish, so that it is completed on time and within budget. Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of assigned project(s) team(s) to ensure that goals or objectives are accomplished. Responsible for all aspects of project management (from the initiation through completion) including managing plans, coordinating activities of the project, and reporting status to executive steering committee.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Design, communicate, and implement an operational plan for completing a project; monitor progress and performance against the project plan; resolve operational problems, minimize delays.Identify, develop, and gather necessary resources to complete the project.Prepare designs and work specifications; develop schedules, budgets and forecasts; select materials, equipment, project staff, and contractors.Estimate costs, resources, and time required to complete.Monitor activities, allocate resources, and assign tasks to ensure targets are met.Liaise with other areas in the organization to secure specialized resources and contributions for the project.Conduct project meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team.Coach and mentor project staff and assist them to solve problems.Review project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project(s), and allotment of available resources to various phases of projects as defined by working with plant leadership.Develop and implement recovery plans for off-schedule and unanticipated eventualities.Establish work plan for each phase of the project.Coordinate activities of all resources assigned to the project including supervisors/team leaders/and subject matter experts assigned to the project.Lead project team to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.Report to project steering committee and/or executive stakeholder, progress and status of the project on a regular basis.  Prepare written project reports.Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within boundaries of company policy.Develop and implement recovery plans for off-schedule and unanticipated eventualities.Direct and coordinate program activities including but not limited to personnel responsible for specific functions or phases of the program.Knowledge of technical and administrative aspects of all phases of project management including use of information systems, engineering software, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings; understand manufacturing processes and equipment. Oversee work of sub-contractors and their workforce as appropriate.

Job Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or related field.Certified Project Manager.

Experience:

Prior experience leading projects of significant impact and visibility.  7+ years of successful project management experience plus relevant manufacturing, R&D, or commercial experience.Project management skills of cross-functional teams resulting in successful project completion, on-time and within budget.

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Team player with good leadership skills, excellent communication, and customer service skills.Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.

Target Hiring Range

Annual Salary: USD 124,786.00 - USD 171,581.00
