Strategic Risk Consulting Asia Leader

The Role

Based in Singapore, our regional Risk & Analytics (R&A) hub, you will lead the Strategic Risk Consulting (SRC) team across Asia and collaborate closely with our global SRC team. You will work with our regional and global R&A team of risk consultants, natural catastrophe and climate specialists, and risk engineers. This role focuses on developing trusted advisor relationships with clients, internal business leaders, and client managers through effective communication and quality project execution across Asia.

You will lead the development of new business and oversee the delivery of risk optimisation strategy recommendations to a wide range of corporate clients across Asia.  You will manage a team of colleagues in the region and regularly interact with our international teams.  Key responsibilities include:

SRC Asia strategy development and execution, working with WTW’s Corporate Risk and Broking leadership to grow our insurance broking and risk consulting businesses across all priority Asia markets.  Business planning and achievement of agreed risk consulting revenues and costs budgets.  Work with WTW client-facing colleagues and clients to support the growth of our Corporate Risk & Broking business. Work with WTW client-facing colleagues and clients to develop fee-paying risk consulting business. Design, structure and oversee modelling analysis for clients’ risks, both individually and on a portfolio-basis, by applying standard actuarial techniques as well as WTW proprietary tools.  Present analytical results and recommendations to clients.  Ensure quality of work by participating in our peer review process. Maintain a comprehensive audit trail for all analytical work.

The Requirements

Qualified actuary, preferably to UK, Australian or USA standard.Proven record of new business development.Proven ability to build and lead successful teams.Experience in general insurance actuarial analysis and consulting is strongly preferred. This is likely to have been gained through roles with major insurance brokers, major insurers, or one of the large management consultancy groups.Strong, commercial, persuasive, client-facing communication skills.Spoken and written English must be at native speaker level.Exhibits intellectual curiosity and a positive attitude.Able to demonstrate experience of designing and building actuarial loss forecast models for non-life insurance risks such as property and liability. Capital modelling, reserving and pricing experience would also be desirable.The innovation and problem-solving abilities that are regularly required to design bespoke risk consulting solutions and models for our clients.Experienced in preparing and presenting results and recommendations reports in clear, simple, actionable language.Excellent PowerPoint skills and attention to detail are essential.A natural team player and committed to delivering high quality services to our clients, on time.While the role will be based in Singapore, you must be able to travel as required to meet with existing clients and new prospects.
