The Senior Strategic Sourcing and Category Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic initiatives within an assigned portfolio of indirect sourcing categories, which include Equipment and Facilities Management and a lead to assist with other indirect categories of goods and services as required. This is a full-time Max-Term position for 6 Months based in our North Ryde Sydney Office.
Group Procurement operates a shared services model with a focus on providing specialist services across Downer’s business units in an integrated, responsive and efficient manner. The Senior Strategic Sourcing and Category Manager is a key advisor and reports to the Group Manager Strategic Sourcing – Category Management. This integral role forms part of the Group Procurement leadership team. This team collectively is responsible for delivering a best-in-class procurement function for a large, diverse and complex organisation.

Development of category strategies, Identification of cost saving opportunities, Facilitating and leading sourcing projects, Supplier negotiation, Management of spend data and Establishment and maintenance of supplier relationships.What you'll bring
MCIPS preferred. Engineering &/or Financial Degree Preferrable, Post Graduate studies Procurement, Logistics &/or Supply Chain. Tertiary Qualified in a Business/Commercial related degree Experience in a large working environment would be ideal 5 to 7 years experience as a Procurement Category/ Contracts / Commercial Role/s in Temp Labour/ Labour Hire sourcing and Logistics category Good Communication, presentation and influencing skills Strong negotiation skills Strong problem solving / solutions development skills Ability to manage cross functional teams and stakeholder groups Ability to drive change across the businessWhy you will love working with us
