Strategic Sourcing Assistant (Co-op)

We are currently hiring for a Strategic Sourcing Co-op for our Global Sourcing department. The ideal candidate is currently pursuing a post-secondary education in the Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering or related field.  


Job Summary
Reporting to the Sourcing Manager, this person will be responsible for assisting in sourcing projects, creating procurement strategies, data analysis for spend categories, contract T&C compliance and liaising with cross functional departments for cost reduction targets and supplier performance goals are met.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid, 3 days per week in office

Work Term: Spring/Summer 2025 (4 Months: May - Aug) or (8 Months: May - Dec)

 

As a Strategic Sourcing Assistant, you will be:

Identifying suppliers and developing strategic relationships for Capital Equipment and MRO Understanding market conditions and effectively communicating trends/forecasts to stakeholders Supporting the RFP, RFQ, RFA and negotiation processes - with a focus on creating value Working in conjunction with Legal and stakeholders to negotiate contract terms and conditions Collaborating with stakeholders to effectively manage the supplier portfolio Developing/executing category strategies, vendor pool and sourcing plan Managing supplier performance. Developing and monitoring KPIs for key suppliers Ensuring contract commitments are met and entered in ERP system
 

Who are we looking for? Someone who:

Currently enrolled in a degree program and in good standing at an accredited college or university and pursuing a supply chain / business or engineering degree Enrolled and eligible for a 4 or 8 month Co-op program for the Spring/Summer 2025 work term Candidates pursuing Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering programs are preferred General understanding of sourcing, category knowledge & supplier management experience Organized and has skills to multi-task several projects with several team members Self-starter, high initiative, persistent and curious Possesses strong initiative to understand a problem and work independently to solve it Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications and strong with excel Previous work experience in a supply chain or operations environment preferred Database skills and ERP experience is a plus Language: English, basic French Language a plus but not mandatory Strong written and oral communication skills Organized, and able to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines
