Are you ready to make your mark?  If you’re a Strategic Sourcing Engineer I we have an exciting opportunity for you.The Strategic Sourcing Engineer works in partnership with the Category Managers to assess future needs to develop a comprehensive category project plan. This plan will drive supplier engagement and discovery needs.

What You Will Be Doing Demonstrates a knowledge of specific Category and processes to use in leading the team in creating a qualified ASL based on aligned standards.Leads extended Category teams to identify and mitigate supplier capability / capacity / system gaps determined through supplier assessment, standard evaluation activities and ongoing category growth needs.Lead Supplier discovery activities to support category needs and to find new more efficient technologies for producing product.Lead Global Sourcing supplier assessment process activities to evaluate whether a potential new supplier meets Woodward requirements for both technical, process and quality related capability.Proactive approach to new technologies/ideas that are being developed. Support and lead implementation activities for new technology.

What We Are Looking For US – bachelor’s degree in arts/sciences (BA/BS) 4-year degree in technical field required.US – master’s degree in arts/sciences (MA/MS) Business or technical field preferred.5+ years’ experience within category preferred.Black Belt Certification Required or achieved in the 1st year of employment required.Other Professional Certifications Professional certifications preferred, (i.e. ASQ, SAE, AWS, SME, CWE, CWI, etc.) preferred.Travel is required.Written and Verbal Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management, customers and suppliers.Data Analysis Skills:  Ability to drive logical solutions in the lack of clear data in addition to analysis from raw data setsInterpersonal Skills:  Ability to adapt style to be appropriate to multiple levels of stakeholders within a learning culture
