  Are you passionate about driving Total Cost of Ownership while enhancing product quality and supplier relationships? We're seeking a dynamic individual to lead our Indirect Sourcing and Procurement MRO Team responsible for purchasing and supply management efforts across our Maintenance, Repairs and Operations indirect spend categories. As the Strategic Sourcing Manager, you'll have the opportunity to apply your analytical and negotiation skills while leveraging people leadership competencies and stakeholder engagement to deliver superior outcomes.  

 

Role Description

  The Strategic Sourcing Manager leads a team that spearheads purchasing and supply management activities across various indirect spend categories, including electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, office supplies, personal protective equipment, power transmission, pipe, valves, and fittings. The role seeks to leverage the team capabilities to develop and deliver robust category management strategies using a standardized procurement framework.  Additionally, the Strategic Sourcing Manager assesses internal and external market dynamics, strategically navigating commercial, specification, and demand parameters. This role entails overseeing the strategic procurement process, implementing governance mechanisms to minimize value leakage and collaborating closely with stakeholders to devise and execute cost reduction strategies.  

This role is preferred to be Kingsport, TN based.  
 

Responsibilities Provide market insights to support decision-making within commercial teams Utilize advanced negotiation skills to drive aggressive cost savings and contract commitments Identify improvement opportunities with a strategic mindset that balances short-term gains with long-term objectives Proactively address needs, solve problems, and anticipate issues Demonstrate proficient verbal and written communication skills Exhibit strong organizational and analytical capabilities  Capture real savings and conduct supplier selection and negotiation processes Develop and execute sourcing strategies for critical spend categories  Track performance metrics within each spend category and assess impact Ensure strategy implementation and contract compliance Promote best practices and monitor material market dynamics Adhere to internal and external policies, regulations, and laws Lead cross-functional teams in developing and implementing category strategies
  Qualifications, Experience and Skills Strategic mindset with methodical execution. Passion for category management and cost reduction. Exceptional negotiation, project management, and problem-solving skills. Over 7 years of progressive procurement experience, preferably in chemicals manufacturing or automotive industries. Previous leadership experience. Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred. Interested?
