Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking a Sourcing Manager with vendor management and contractual negotiation experience to contribute toward the success of our vendor expense initiatives. Responsibilities include the support of processes and practices necessary to source and manage suppliers to produce quality products/services and manage risk. Performs tactical planning for sourcing initiatives and spend management for a portfolio of spend. Project work includes recommendations relating to vendor choice, negotiation strategy, business requirements definition focusing on vendor negotiations with an array of vendors.  

Regularly interacts with business line subject matter experts providing recommendations and incorporating original thought and credible challenge. Support Business Lines with their vendor negotiations with existing or new smaller vendor relationships. Periodic work focused on identifying and assisting in the deliverance of cost savings, pricing negotiations, consolidation opportunities, demand management, etc.

Assists with the development, execution and maintenance of procurement strategy for large, enterprise professional services and consulting vendors. Advises internal business partners, vendors and other strategic staff to provide the most efficient and effective procurement methods and contract negotiations. Negotiates and reviews large, strategic consulting contracts. Evaluates suppliers and proposals to ensure organization and customer needs are met. Monitors market trends and internal organization priorities. Interacts with senior management on short- and long-term projects. Effectively links procurement strategies to overall business strategy and coordinates projects across business lines. Implements process improvements, including use of technology to drive efficiency. Manages relationships with key suppliers to drive optimal outcomes for the organization. Ensures clear definitions of benefits from category projects.

Additional responsibilities:

Negotiates commercial terms to optimize client’s needs and budget; 

Coordinates activities related to anticipating, negotiating, and executing the managed contracts; 

Assists with contractual negotiation activities to ensure quality and compliance with contract procedures and standards; 

Collaborates with business line clients to establish plans, standards, and procedures that will add value to strategic vendor relationships and mitigates any risks to the company;

Performs sourcing and planning; 

Reviews business standards for vendor performance; 

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, finance, supply chain management or logistics, or equivalent work experience

At least one year of related experience

Interest in financial services and technology with a willingness to learn

Curiosity and willingness to seek out information

Demonstrated project management skills

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Location Expectations 
The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $92,820.00 - $109,200.00 - $120,120.00
