Job Summary  

​​The Strategy function plays a critical role in charting Carhartt’s long-term growth and development, driving both the future of the company and shaping the industry landscape. We are tasked with ensuring the company focuses on and invests in the assets and capabilities needed to stay ahead of the competition and maintain market leadership. This entails developing actionable solutions for some of the most challenging issues facing the company. The Strategy Manager helps drive the corporate strategy and advance initiatives key to Carhartt’s future growth. This role will develop strategic plans and lead project-based work and analysis with a highly collaborative approach. The role offers the opportunity for enterprise-level impact and exposure to different parts of the business through a variety of project experiences. ​

Representative Responsibilities  

Provide insights and recommendations on a broad range of business-critical topics to business partners and senior management based on data analysis  

Develop strategic plans and objectives aligned with the company’s mission and values  

Conduct comprehensive market analysis to understand industry trends, consumer needs, and emerging opportunities. 

Perform in-depth competitive research to benchmark against key competitors and identify areas for differentiation 

Define clear and actionable key performance indicators to measure success of strategic plans and initiatives 

Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure alignment between strategy and operations 

Monitor and recommend adjustments to strategies as needed based on performance data and changing market conditions 

Lead and manage key strategic projects from conception to completion  

Assist in the planning and execution of the Enterprise Strategic Planning Process  

Identify and evaluate new business opportunities and partnerships 

Prepare “executive ready” project deliverables and manage communication with key stakeholders 

 

Required Education  

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing, or related field; or equivalent years of related experience   

 MBA/Master’s degree preferred 

 

Required Skills & Experience  

5-7 years of experience in strategy planning, business development, or related field  

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, build consensus and convey complex concepts in a clear and concise manner 

Highly collaborative and adept at building strong relationships with business partners 

Strong leadership and project management abilities 

Comfort with navigating ambiguity and with being constantly challenged/stretched 

Proficiency in data analysis and strategic planning tools 

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint. 

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions  

Typical office environment; office setting. Extended periods of time sitting, standing, typing on a computer are required.  

Willing to work some weekends if necessary. 

National and International travel required (up to 20%).
