Job Description
In order to be considered for this position, candidate must be serving permanently in the title of Clerical Associate or must have filed for the Open Competitive Clerical Associate Exam #3971 or be eligible under the 55a program.
The Division of Traffic Operations is looking to hire a per diem Clerical Associate Level 4 for the Signals Street Lighting Engineering Design Unit. The successful candidate will perform responsible clerical work, including creating, maintaining, and monitoring the Street Lighting and Traffic Signal installation tracking system. They will also review correspondence for the Director’s signature and approval and assist in maintaining the correspondence tracking system. In this role, the candidate will advise administrative and engineering staff on current correspondence procedures, formats, and changes. Their responsibilities will encompass typing reports, commissioner correspondence, routine letters, memos, and charts; screening calls; scheduling meetings and appointments; and maintaining files of various correspondences and records. Additionally, the candidate will handle phone calls and correspondence from movie production and advertising companies regarding Street Lighting and Traffic Signal requests for filming. They will also maintain the movie Street Lighting and/or Traffic Signal request file and process incoming recoupment requests, which involves logging in and out, copying, forwarding, and retrieving data, as well as monitoring the street lighting and traffic signal contract system.

Qualifications
Qualification Requirements
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Skills Requirement
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
