Purpose of the position

 

MacGregor is a leader in sustainable maritime cargo and load handling with a wide portfolio of products, services and solutions.

As we constantly develop, our Global Services Division is looking for a motivated Structural Analyst to join our skilled team in Gdańsk to support calculations on all MacGregor product portfolios. You will play a pivotal role in delivering a range of structural engineering projects.   
 

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

Conducting strength calculations for Cargo Access Solutions, Lifting Machinery Systems and Offshore equipment.

Able to understand and work with maritime standards (DNV, ABS, RINA, CCS, BV etc)

Reviewing completed designs;

Handling questions from customers, production, sub-suppliers and partners;

Preparation of Structural Reports

Liaise with class societies to overcome any issues identified with the design/approvals.

Cooperate with international teams  

What you’ll need to succeed

 

At least 3 years of experience in strength analysis and/or mechanical design within marine industry or similar;

At least B.SC in Naval Architecture or Mechanical Engineering

Fluent in both written and spoken English;

Strong interpersonal and team-working and communication skills;

Ability to work with calculation tools: ANSYS, SpaceClaim, Excel, MathCad, 3D Beam / Nauticus Hull;

Ability to work with CAD tools: Inventor and AutoCAD;

Knowledge of the design, construction of RoRo equipment and / or Offshore structures

Willingness to develop new and innovative solutions;

Easily adapt to new techniques and want to expand your knowledge;

Analytical thinking and strong ability to successfully resolve complex problems and issues.

Flexible approach, willing to work as part of a team or independently.
