Structural Bridge Engineer | Orlando, FL | Tampa, FL | Hybrid
VHB is in search of a Structural Bridge Engineer to join the established and growing Structures group in our FL offices. Joining our team means becoming a part of a dynamic, innovative, and forward-thinking environment where we lead the industry with cutting-edge model-based bridge design.

In this position, you would play an integral role in the planning, analysis, design, and detailing of bridge and other transportation related structural projects - from highway to pedestrian to rail. The ideal candidate should possess a “can-do” attitude, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to work independently as well as with a team in a dynamic, fast-paced, and fun environment.

Responsibilities
Perform structural modeling and design for bridge and other transportation infrastructure projectsPrepare construction documents, including plans, estimates, and calculation packagesProvide technical support to structural engineering staffProvide project management supportReview fabrication drawings and provide construction plan reviewsSkills & Abilities
Strong technical skills in bridge/structural designExperience developing design reports, plans, and construction cost estimatesExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsSelf-motivated and commitment to learningExcellent attention to detail and critical thinkingEffective and comfortable in a highly collaborative team environment AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenBridge experience is a strong plusMinimum Qualifications:
1-3 years of civil or structural engineering experienceBS in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis preferred)Engineer in Training certificationPreferred Qualifications:
3-5 years of professional structural/bridge design experiencePE license or ability to obtain within 6 months preferredFamiliarity with any of the following structural engineering software is a strong plus (i.e. Mathcad, FB-MultiPier, ATLAS, STAAD Pro, LARSA 4D, AASHTOWare, MDX, SP Column, MerlinDASH, FDOT Structures Design Programs, etc.)Model-based design experience is a strong plus:Bentley OpenBridge and OpenRoadsAutoCADD Civil 3D and Revit/Infraworks/InventorWe are VHB!
