Kleinfelder is currently seeking a Structural / Bridge Engineer to join our growing our SoCal Bridge Group in San Diego, California!

 

The ideal candidate will participate in and contribute to a diverse range of engineering services in our team-oriented environment providing public and private clients with professional engineering services for structural design projects including bridges, culverts, retaining walls; developing design calculations, load ratings and specifications.  The work is often fast paced with multiple ongoing projects and deliverables, including a wide variety of tasks with competing priorities.  The ideal candidate will possess strong oral and written communication skills, excellent inter-personal skills for working in multiple group settings, and a strong desire to learn, grow, and succeed.

 

Responsibilities would include: 

Producing preliminary and final design plans for multiple jurisdictionsPerforming analysis and design of structures including seismic analysisProducing CADD design and detailing of contract drawings using Microstation and or AutoCAD Civil 3DCreating exhibits to be used at client meetings and interviewsPerforming spreadsheet calculations using Excel or specific software programsPreparing construction cost estimatesReviewing shop drawings, erection procedures and performing construction administration dutiesReading and interpreting agency standard drawings and specificationsCreating technical reportsPreparing technical specificationsPreparing documents for federal, state and local permitsPerforming quality control on work by other team members 

 

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering from an accredited engineering program.  Master's degree preferred.Professional Engineering registration is required or the ability to obtain within 2 years of hire. 

 

Required Experience:

3-6 experience in structural design calculations and detailing or 2 years related experience with a Master’s or 0 years’ experience with PhD. Experience in the following software/programs: AutoCAD,Civil 3D, Microstation, LARSA 4D, RISA, SAP, AASHTOware BrR, Bentley Engineering, Bluebeam, MDX, MathCAD, ExcelExperience working with the following clients is a plus: Caltrans
