Position Summary: Responsible for engineering design using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments.  This position is not eligible for employer-based sponsorship with the exception of the TN visa classification.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Structural analysis and design calculations for bridges (steel plate girders, prestressed concrete beams, foundations, etc.), retaining walls, bridge repairs, and ancillary structures (culverts, sign structures, etc.) Analyze survey data, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects Perform design computations and preliminary design reports comparing various structural alternatives Design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools Develop quantity and construction cost estimates Assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction Coordinate with internal team members to ensure task completion on schedule and while meeting established quality benchmarks Work in a team environment as well as individually Time management Assist with bridge inspection fieldwork and report writing
