Structural Design Engineer

Clover Leaf Solutions seeking a Structural Design Engineer to provide full-time support for minor facility modifications in Cat 2, 3/Non-Nuclear, Balance of Plant facilities, and Backbone Infrastructure Utility areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing structural designs, including drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports for various materials of construction. This role requires effective collaboration within integrated project teams, technical leadership for multi-discipline tasks, and providing design verifications and input to system engineers and other stakeholders. Additionally, the candidate will perform walkdowns in existing plant facilities, provide field support to craft personnel, and apply technical expertise in Structural Engineering principles. All work will be done on-site in Oak Ridge, TN.

Responsibilities:

Develop structural designs, including drawings (plans, sections, details), engineering instructions, data sheets, equipment specifications, and structural calculations. Provide design verifications, squad checks, and input to system engineers and other stakeholders. Conduct walkdowns in existing plant facilities to generate design documents and provide field support to craft personnel. Ensure designs comply with ASME Nuclear Quality Assurance (NQA-1), CSA standards, and consensus design codes. Oversee structural rehabilitation, building evaluations, seismic analyses, and machine installations. Interface effectively with clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees. Understand and adhere to Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, and Conduct of Maintenance in a nuclear regulated environment. Preferred experience with CAD drafting, 3D modeling (e.g., STAAD Pro, GT STRUDL), and familiarity with NRC or DOE regulated environments.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited school. Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural design engineering. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a production environment. CAD drafting experience preferred. Experience with 3D modeling software (e.g., STAAD Pro, GT STRUDL) preferred. Familiarity with NRC or DOE regulated environments desirable.
