Structural Design Technician

We are looking for a grounded and confident Structural Design Technician in Sacramento, California. You’ll be charged with independent drafting and mentoring more junior CAD technicians in drawing preparation for bridges, retaining walls, and other miscellaneous structural support systems involved in transportation projects. It’s one thing to dream up new solutions. At Jacobs, we also deliver them. This position is non-exempt and paid hourly. * Associate degree (AA) Degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design or similar technical degree. * Minimum of 8 years, and preferably 10 years, of CAD drafting/design experience. * Ability to collaborate with engineers to prepare structure plans for multi-discipline and multi office projects with minimal guidance from senior CAD technicians. * Proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD. * Proficient in Bentley MicroStation. * Strong motivation to perform high-quality work and meet deadlines. * A keen eye and attention to detail. * Experience in drafting and plan preparation for bridges, retaining walls, and other Civil structural systems. Ideally, You’ll Also Have: * Autodesk Autocad and Civil 3D Experience. * Advance Autodesk Revit or Bentley Open Bridge modeler experience. * Familiarity with CAD standards for agencies such as Caltrans, Nevada DOT, and other local agencies/counties located in Northern California.
