Structural Designer II
OVERVIEW Merrick & Company is seeking a Structural Designer II to join our multidisciplinary team of professionals in our High Performance Facilities Business Unit. This position requires an individual who works well with architects and engineers of other disciplines and who is proficient in the production of structural design drawings for buildings and other structures. This position can be in any one of four Merrick offices: Greenwood Village (Denver, CO metro area); Albuquerque, NM; Atlanta, GA; or Merritt Island, FL. Please indicate the office in which you are interested. Typical pay hourly range for this position is $34.00 - $42.00. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. WHAT YOU'LL DO The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team completing the structural design of buildings and other structures as well as renovations to buildings and structures. The work will involve the preparation of drawings for the construction of various types of buildings and structures throughout the Unites States and possibly overseas as well. The successful candidate will produce plans, elevations, sections and detail drawings using Revit. The successful candidate will work independently in close collaboration with other designers and design engineers, receiving inputs verbally, in written form, and as markups of drawings. The position requires communication skills to effectively interact with other Merrick engineers and drafters located in various offices to support the overall structural design demand. The position also requires a strong understanding of structural systems for buildings and typical construction methods for those systems. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Minimum four (4) years of structural design / drafting experience. Proficiency with Revit BIM software. Ability to read and understand construction documents and translate input from engineers into quality construction drawings. Ability to produce quality construction drawings for steel, masonry, wood, cold-formed steel, and concrete structures with limited supervision. Degree Requirements: Minimum High School / GED. Client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Working knowledge of Autocad. Experience using PTC Creo. Construction experience. Degree Requirements: Minimum High School / GED. Associates degree in drafting/design. Local candidates are preferred.
