Primary Responsibilities

HDR is looking for a Structural Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services team in either Charlotte, Raleigh, or Atlanta. In the role of Structural Engineer, we'll count on you to:

• Review structural documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines

• Write and edit structural specifications

• Select procedures and materials, and their respective sizes

• Complete necessary calculations

• Independently coordinate the work of the structural design team through the design development and contract document phases of a project

• Establish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance

• Conduct design development and contract document work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines

• Coordinate workload through design development and construction document phases to complete the documents on schedule

• Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders, and take responsibility to incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documents

• Perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Minimum of 5 years structural engineering experiencePEMicrosoft Office, AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar analytical softwarePrevious experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firmExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Structural EngineeringRevit Structural experience Water/Wastewater treatment plant design experienceLocal candidates are preferred
