As a Structural Engineer in our Overland Park, KS office, you will help us empower our clients to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing power industry through new designs, retrofits and repair of structural systems for all types of facilities. Project will not only include steam or electrical generation (reciprocating engines, simple and combined cycle combustion turbines, combined heat & power (CHP), solar, wind and energy storage systems) but also pharmaceuticals, food processing, manufacturing, healthcare, data centers and higher education.

In addition to working closely with the Overland Park office focusing on designing or improving systems for utility scale generation facilities and central utility plants (electricity, steam, hot water, chilled water) but also with AEI offices across the country providing structural services for their projects.  Not only does AEI design energy and utility facilities we also provide services for process facilities, pharmaceuticals/healthcare designing clean rooms and patient facilities to industrial/manufacturing  facilities for various types of products.


Expertise of our most successful Structural Engineer: 

BSCE/ BS ARCE from ABET accredited school.5+ years of design experience in the consulting engineering industry for utility power plants, process/manufacturing facilities, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, or governmental facilities.Experience with communicating with clients, partners, and individuals at all levels within an organization.

Effective skills to help you flourish:

Effective knowledge of structural systems from shallow/deep foundations to steel and concrete buildings/structures. Professional Engineering (PE) registration preferred. Proficiency in computer operation for engineering design programs (i.e. RISA, LPile, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revit)Knowledge of industrial standards and codes such as AISC, ASCE, ACI, IBC.Ability to work on multidiscipline and single discipline projects. Perform inspections, measurement and/or calculations for clients.Strong spoken and written communications skills.Excellent organization and time management skills.Quick technical comprehension and motivation focused on client outcomes.Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.Ability to work effectively individually and within team environments.
