Kleinfelder is seeking a talented Bridge Engineer to work on challenging and exciting transportation projects in the Mid-Atlantic Region in our Harrisburg or Pittsburgh, PA offices. Additionally, opportunities for transportation work assignments throughout the U.S. are available.
The successful candidate will perform engineering tasks in the transportation and structural engineering field through application of relevant design criteria, standards, and processes.
Responsibilities include:
Develop plan details for new transportation related structures and bridge/culvert maintenance, repair, rehabilitation, and replacement projects using CADD and engineering softwarePrepare structural design calculations in accordance with applicable design standards and agency preferencesPerform structural analysis of new designs and existing structures (bridges and other transportation structures) using various bridge and structural design software programsPrepare construction cost estimates and specifications for various types of transportation projectsQualifications:
BSCE from an ABET accredited engineering program (MSCE preferred)0 to 5 years of relevant design experience in the structural engineering fieldE.I.T. certificate preferred (PE license a bonus)PennDOT and/or Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission bridge design experience preferred.Familiarity with AASHTO, PennDOT and PTC standards preferred.Experience performing design and analysis of transportation structures including bridges, culverts, walls, and sign structures preferredExperience with PennDOT design software preferred (general purpose structural analysis software experience a bonus)Excellent written and oral communication skillsProficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and MicroStationAbility to establish and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, project managers, supervisors, and other team members
