What You’ll Be Doing:

Lead the design and analysis of complex structural projects, leveraging your technical skills to develop innovative, safe, and efficient solutions. Perform detailed structural analysis and calculations to ensure designs comply with all relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards. Create and review structural plans, drawings, and specifications, considering material properties, loading conditions, and environmental impacts across various projects. Collaborate closely with architects, multidisciplinary engineering teams, and project stakeholders to deliver integrated structural solutions that meet project goals. Conduct site visits and assessments to evaluate existing structures and identify design challenges, ensuring practical and effective solutions. Prepare and present engineering reports, technical documents, and presentations, ensuring clarity and precision for both internal teams and clients. Utilize advanced CAD software and engineering tools to produce high-quality, accurate structural designs. Mentor junior engineers and drafters, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. Commit to quality and compliance, proactively addressing issues to ensure successful project outcomes. Support project management efforts, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation, ensuring timely and cost-effective project delivery.

About You:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in California. At least six years of experience in structural engineering, ideally within consulting or related industries, with a strong portfolio of successful projects. Proficiency in industry-standard software for structural analysis (e.g., RISA, RAM, ETABS) and CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit), with a track record of producing high-quality designs. In-depth knowledge of relevant design codes and standards (e.g., ACI, AISC, ASCE) applied to complex engineering projects. Proven ability to lead interdisciplinary teams, including architects, contractors, and clients, to deliver cohesive structural solutions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to various stakeholders. Demonstrated success managing multiple projects simultaneously, delivering on time and within budget while maintaining high standards of quality. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing engineering challenges and adapting to evolving project needs. Expertise in seismic design, advanced structural analysis, and sustainable design practices. Commitment to continuous professional development and staying up to date with industry advancements.

Nice to Have:

Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or related field. Leadership experience managing engineering teams or overseeing large-scale projects. Specialized expertise in areas like façade engineering, earthquake engineering, cold-formed steel design, or specialty structures. Experience in client engagement and business development, with a track record of building strong client relationships. Proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM) software and collaborative design platforms.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Primarily office-based work, involving extended periods of sitting at a desk or computer. Occasional lifting of objects up to 15 lbs. Occasional site visits and field inspections, which may involve walking, standing, or navigating uneven terrain.

Compensation:

The base salary for this role is competitive and based on experience, education, and skills. A qualified candidate with at least six years of experience can expect a salary in the range of $85,000-$120,000, plus performance-based bonuses. Detailed compensation information will be provided during the interview process.
