Structural Engineer

The Structural Engineer will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the construction of structures to ensure they are safe, sustainable, and cost-effective. This includes buildings, bridges, tunnels, and other infrastructure. The Structural Engineer will collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to deliver high-quality projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and Analysis:

·        Develop structural designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software.

·        Perform calculations to ensure structures can withstand various loads and forces.

·        Analyze building materials for strength, durability, and cost-effectiveness.

 

2. Project Management:

·        Prepare detailed drawings and specifications for construction.

·        Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other professionals to ensure project alignment.

·        Oversee construction sites to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.

·        Manage project timelines and budgets.

 

3.Compliance and Standards:

·        Ensure all designs adhere to local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.

·        Conduct inspections and provide certifications as required by law.

 

4.Problem Solving:

·        Identify and resolve design and construction issues.

·        Provide technical advice and support during construction phases.

 

5.Documentation and Reporting:

·        Prepare and present reports, proposals, and other documentation.

·        Maintain accurate records of design changes and project progress.

 

Qualifications:

·        Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.

·        Experience: 5+ years of experience in structural engineering or a related field.

·        Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred

·        Skills:

-            Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering design tools.

-            Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.

-            Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

-            Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

-            Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work.

 

Abilities:

Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time. Sitting for extended periods of time. Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction. Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard. Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense. Identify and understand the speech of another person.
