Job Description
This role ensures compliance with structural integrity standards and collaborates with cross-functional engineering teams to define the product environment. The Structural Engineer supports all ongoing Development and Production Programs by conducting stress and structural analyses, interpreting vehicle loads, and ensuring adherence to program standards.
Responsibilities to include:
Develop, integrate, and document structural requirements to establish system designs.Coordinate with engineering teams to define the product environment and ensure alignment across disciplines.Guide product design and validate structural integrity using analytical methods, finite element models, simulations, and other tools.Plan and conduct structural analysis to ensure compliance with structural integrity, stability, and safety requirements.Create test plans, oversee test configurations, support test execution, and analyze/report test results to validate compliance with system specifications.Define and document certification results to confirm compliance with customer and regulatory agency requirements.Investigate product failures and recommend design improvements for in-service products.Develop and refine analytical tools and processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and effectiveness in structural engineering.Explore emerging technologies to inform and support the development of future product designs.Review and approve certification results and associated documentation.Perform additional tasks assigned by engineering department leadership.QualificationsBS Degree in Mechanical Engineering4+ years of experience within the aerospace sector Structural Dynamics experience with the ability to model, interpret, provide, and report results.Finite element analysis experience.Proficiency with FEMAP and other FEM tools.Proficiency with AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS; Certified SOLIDWORKS (CSW) experience (preferred).Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools, including Abaqus.Familiarity with composites and materials standards, including MIL-HDBK-5.Fatigue analysis experience.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $55.00
