Structural Engineer

**Job Overview:**
APTIM is hiring a Structural Engineer to perform Installation Support Services for the United States Army Garrison Redstone (USAG-R) Department of Public Works (DPW) with our partner AKIMA at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. This position is responsible for inspections, development of repair plans, and reporting of structural issues/damage/deterioration of bridges, wood roof trusses, steel corrosion, roof failure, foundation settlement, and concrete spalling to DPW, USACE, IMCOM Bridge Management, and DPW Road Management teams.
**Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:**
+ A seasoned experienced professional with a full understanding of civil engineering resolving a wide range of issues in creative ways.
+ Broad application of principles, theories, and concepts in structural engineering, plus working knowledge of other related fields.
+ Provides resolution to a diverse scope and range of complex problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
+ Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
+ Development of project design basis, development of specifications, and performance of detailed engineering.
+ Ensures conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards.
+ Ensure project budgets and schedules are met.
+ Communicates with DPW on structural issues and works towards the best solutions.
+ Performs research for special equipment and methods for occasional non-standard repairs.
+ Oversees Craft Shops on structural type repair work performed.
+ May perform in project leadership role and/or may supervise the activities of lower-level personnel.
+ Contributes to a team environment.
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineer
+ Must have minimum of 6 years of experience in structural engineer
+ Valid State Driver's License
+ Meet requirements for: pre-employment physical, drug screening, background check, and MVR check (MVR points are subject to company policy)
+ Must obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
+ Alabama Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
+ Ability to work for at least 8 hours and stand for prolonged periods of time.
+ Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50lbs.
