Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

 

Z Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking a Structural Engineer Intern for our facility located in Troy, MI. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this intern will support the design and engineering department. Full time, physical attendance is required at the Troy, MI office. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepares shop drawings for plant fabrication using Revit.Prepares specific details for shop installation and site-built conditions.Provides calculations for designs.Interprets codes and other standards as necessary for compliance.Joins team members occasionally for onsite observation of work, including travel to Arizona and Texas.Participates in weekly design meetings.Leads and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.Performs other duties as they might be assigned.Regular, full-time predictable onsite attendance is an essential function of this role

REQUIREMENTS

Completion of junior year of structural, civil, or architectural engineering programGPA of at least 3.0Basic Knowledge and experience with RevitBasic Knowledge of steel designBasic knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, databases (Microsoft Office)Ability to travel to Internship Summit, hosted at one of our Zekelman Industries’ locations
