Structural Engineer - Manufacturing (Melbourne/Orlando)
**Description** The Structural Engineer will develop plans and prepare non-routine drawings with complex features using information from rough sketches, detailed engineering notes or brief verbal guidance. This position will work on various projects with a diverse portfolio of project types and clients. + Plan and prepare detailed drawings by applying standardized drawing techniques from detailed sketches, verbal instructions and notes under the direction of an engineer. + Collect initial drawings, calculations and design ideas from engineers, and combine relevant data into coherent and complete initial design models for review and modification. + Apply company, client, and project drafting standards and procedures to draft control schematics, wiring diagrams and equipment connection diagrams. + Coordinate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and verify design details according to company standards and best practices. + Provide a range of drawing production work including problem analysis, layout, detailing, and drafting on projects of substantial variety and complexity. + Perform drafting activities with designers and drafters in other disciplines. + Communicate and correspond with internal design resources and external clients and personnel. + Execute design changes and project drawing revisions. + Maintain CAD proficiency and work toward mastering current CAD systems. + Performs other duties as assigned. + Complies with all policies and standards. **Qualifications** + Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program. + Bachelor of Science in Structural or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. + Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering may be substituted for 1 year experience. + Minimum 3 years of structural engineering experience, consulting preferred. + Successful completion (i.e.passing) FE or EIT preferred. + Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills. + Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures. + Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite). + Strong computer skills include structural analysis programs (e.g., RISA 3D), AutoCAD, ETABS, SAFE and BIM (e.g., Revit and Tekla). + Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
