Job Description: Stantec is a leading global consultancy firm providing engineering design, program management, technology solutions and procurement support to infrastructure, water, wastewater, Buildings, Energy & Resources (E&R) and the environmental industrial sectors of North America, Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific region. Stantec is looking for a transmission and distribution structural / electrical engineer who can contribute and foster the growth of Stantec Resource Net India Private Ltd, Pune by providing technical expertise for Energy & Resources BU in Structural/ Electrical discipline. T&D engineers (within the Energy & Resources BU of Stantec), design, and deliver engineering projects primarily in transmission and distribution, power generation and substation sectors. They will also get engaged with O&G, mining, and other heavy industrial process plants as and when required. A Career Level 3 engineer carries out engineering assignments of moderate to complex level. Under direct supervision and direction of a Lead / senior engineer, this role is responsible for a project or part of a project requiring knowledge of conceptual design, FEED / outline design, detailed design for transmission and distribution projects. The role requires supporting other engineers by performing the design assignments in coordination with other team members and ensure that project outcomes in terms of schedule, technical and quality standards etc., meet both the client and Stantec expectations. Key Accountabilities: • Preparing plans, specifications, and design packages for transmission line projects. • Producing technical presentations and design drawings. • Perform detailed studies, prepare plans, transmission line modeling and design tasks associated with utilities or other types of projects, under the supervision of a regional lead / project engineer. • Optioneering and outline design relating to Transmission & Distribution and Industrial projects. • Preparation of technical reports/ drawings sketches. • Perform detailed design and engineering calculations of the overhead electric distribution systems to comply with the client’s standards, specifications, preferences, and relevant industry standards (NESC, RUS, etc.) • Guiding Engineering/ CAD team for quality delivery and ensure that Stantec Design Practices are followed. • Perform self-check and QA/QC on projects before submittal to the client. • Prepare cost estimates on engineering and construction packages. • Develop a bill of material required for construction based on client standards. • Develop permit drawings as necessary to accommodate construction. • Capable to analyze, assess, evaluate the issues, complexity pertaining to projects / work packages and support the lead in mitigating them in advance. • Knowledge of concrete and steel structures – analysis and design. • Carry out other duties as may be assigned from time to time by supervisor/management. • Need to work off-hours for regional co-ordination: Occasionally. Specific Experience: • Bachelor/ master’s degree in civil/structural engineering. • 3 to 8 years of experience in transmission and distribution projects. • Experienced with the use of software like PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE and PLS-TOWER. • Experience in design using NA and / or UK codes and other regulations related to Transmission & distribution and Industrial projects. • Experience with structural software tools like staad pro, SAP2000, ANSYS, LS DYNA, FAD Tools, and LPile will be added advantage. • 2D design experience using the following Software applications will be an added advantage. o Autodesk AutoCAD • Bentley MicroStation • Familiarity and sufficient knowledge in related electrical studies, knowledge of electric utility systems, policies, and procedures including such as EMF, fault current, grounding, contaminants study and clearance analysis for transmission line design. • Requires broad general knowledge of electrical industrial and utility power projects, including strong familiarity with other disciplines required for completion of such projects, including Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Services, Surveying, and permitting for electrical utility companies. • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Office. • Flexibility to prioritize and work on multiple projects with various due dates and scopes. • Make an effective and collaborative contribution to the team through sharing knowledge, promoting ideas, and valuing the contribution of all team members. • Innovative, result oriented, provide ideas and work on them. • Experience in Data / Document management system - ProjectWise, BIM360 will be added advantage. • Competent level of baseline skills, i.e. professional attitude and good written and verbal communication skills. • Rigorous attention to detail, able to understand and adopt workflows and commitment to personal professional development. • Flexible attitude to accepting different work assignments and pro-active attitude to execution / delivery. • Thorough knowledge and understanding of international safety and HSSE regulations and requirements. **Primary Location:** India | Pune **Organization:** Stantec IN Business Unit **Employee Status:** Regular **Job Level:** Nonmanager **Travel:** No **Schedule:** Full time **Job Posting:** 17/01/2025 05:01:28 **Req ID:** 1000585
