The successful candidate willbe responsible forteam development, business growth, and client relationships while ensuring technical excellence and commercial success. **The opportunity** + Provide day-to-day leadership and mentorship to a versatile team of structural engineers. + Identifystaffing needs, engage in recruitment, and make strategic hiring decisions. + Support career development through mentoring, coaching, performance appraisals, and promotions. + Cultivate an inclusive and collaborative work environment that nurtures talent and innovation. + Develop and complete strategies to grow the structuralengineering practice in Chicago and the Midwest. + Identifyand pursue new business opportunities that align with the firm’sexpertiseand strategic goals. + Build and maintainstrong relationships with clients, architects, and industry partners. + Lead proposal development, bid submissions, and contract negotiations. + Represent Arup externally to enhance the profile and reputation of the structural team. + Lead the successful delivery of projects, ensuring high-quality standards and client satisfaction. + Provide technical leadership and oversight on structural engineering projects of various scales. + Support multi-disciplinary project coordination, driving seamless collaboration across teams. + Monitor project budgets, expenses, and financial performance to ensure revenue targets and profit margins are met. + Stay ahead of emerging trends and technologies in structural engineering to maintainthe firm's driven edge. **The skills** + Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineeringrequired(Master’spreferred). + Minimum 15 years of experience in structural engineering, including strong leadership roles. + Professional Engineer (PE)required; Illinois Structural Engineer (SE) license is mandatory. + Experience leading and delivering multi-scale projects as a Project Manager. Multi-disciplinary experience is a plus. + Consistenttrack recordof projects delivered with local Chicago architects, clients, and collaborators. + Established network within the Chicago market with a reputation for technical excellence and leadership.
