The Structural Engineering Manager is a key member of the Ware Malcomb senior management team, responsible for the growth, revenue, profitability, staff management and overall client relationships for the Los Angeles structural engineering market. As the Structural Engineering Manager, you will also be responsible for nurturing a positive, team-oriented environment, ensuring financial goals and deadlines are being met, assisting in business development, and managing select projects.Your RoleProject Management for the execution of structural building projects.Supervise engineers and designers performing calculations and drawing preparation.Perform structural calculations as needed due to complexity and scheduleCoordinate scope and details of project with client and the team.Perform quality assurance and quality control review for projects.Prepare proposals and contracts for structural engineering projectsGuide projects from proposal through completion ensuring alignment with client objectives and profitability targetsLead complex, multidisciplinary engineering projects and actively contribute to project execution as neededOversee group operations with expanded responsibilities in strategic planning, budgeting, revenue forecasting, and staffingDevelop and maintain an environment that supports team member growth, achievement, and advancementSupport team members through coaching, mentoring, performance measurement, and recognitionPartner with Talent Acquisition team and Operations to lead recruitment and hiring effortsPerform business development tasks for internal and external clients and attend relevant networking functionsReview project revenue projects, monthly financial reports, and monthly business reportsBuild trust and relationships with clients by showcasing a commitment to client success through every phase of a projectQualificationsBachelor’s Degree from an ABET-accredited university15+ years of structural engineering experiencePrior leadership experience Professional Structural Engineer (SE) licenseProfessional Engineer (PE) license Advanced analytical, financial, and communication skillsStrong negotiation and relationship-building skillsStrategic thinking and planning skills with experience in financial analysis and project budgetingEstablished in 1972, Ware Malcomb is a dynamic, forward-thinking commercial real estate design firm providing professional architecture, planning, interior design, civil engineering, branding, building measurement, structural engineering and MEP services to clients throughout the world.
