Structural Engineering Technician / Construction Administrator

We are hiring for a Structural Engineering Technician to join our team on a full-time, direct basis and contribute to our operations while based out of our office in Delray Beach, FL.  This person will be working with clients to perform inspections and construction administration tasks for a variety of building projects (new & existing) to ensure compliance.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Inspect construction work to ensure compliance to regulatory requirements; this includes ensuring that structures comply with Construction & Permit documentation. Serve as our Quality Assurance Representative to monitor and review the drawings / specifications of reinforced concrete, masonry, structural steel, and foundation construction projects. Read drawings & specifications, write reports, create sketches, and coordinate with the Engineers, Contractors, and Clients. Work at varying heights and enter tight spaces to conduct steel/welding inspections. Perform site safety and environmental hazard inspections. Prepare reports (including field observations). Contribute to RFI [Request for Information], shop drawing review, and other technical requests. Coordinate site visits with Contractors and/or Architects. Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed.

 

 

Basic Requirements:

Associate’s degree in a technical field of study (preferably Civil Engineering Technology); recent graduates are encouraged to apply!

 

This person will be expected to work regularly in the field, so they will be required to possess a Valid Driver’s License as well as Reliable Transportation.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree is a plus! Professional experience working in field inspections and/or construction. Experience working at varying heights. Proven ability to perform and engage in physically-demanding work. Proficiency with basic computer systems and software; this person will be expected to use MS-Office (e.g.: Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and Adobe. Exposure to technical tools (e.g.: AutoCAD, BlueBeam Revu, Revit BIM, etc.) is a plus! Proven ability to work independently or in a team environment while demonstrating strong character and dependability. Proven ability to work overtime, as needed. Strong communication skills (written & verbal).
