Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it. **POSITION OBJECTIVE:** This position requires that the structural fitter accurately read and interpret Cut Sheets, Sketches, Engineering Drawings and other authorized documents both metric or standard units of measurement. Must be proficient in the fabrication and fitting of structural materials and assemblies of all sizes within protected and open areas. **NATURE AND SCOPE:** Perform setup incidental to structural fitting operations. Fabrication and fitting of all gauges and thickness of structural materials and assemblies where welded area may be subject to extreme stress and where care must be taken to prevent leaks and cracks. Preheat materials as may be necessary in order to minimize any warp of material by proper location of stress relieving methods. Perform surface preparations of materials such as cleaning, beveling, sanding and grinding of assembly parts. Qualified in fabrication of both Stainless Steel and Carbon Steel structural materials. Structural fabrication shall conform to Customer Specifications and ANSI/AWS D1.1 Code unless otherwise specified. **PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:** 1.Comply with all of TurboFab’s Environmental, Health and Safety Programs, Regulations and Guidelines. 2.Must keep all areas clean and orderly; and comply with TurboFab’s housekeeping procedures. 3.Ensure that the specifications have been followed and quality has not been compromised. 4.Must maintain production levels to shop standards and procedures. 5.Check own work for conformance to drawings. 6.Use all necessary equipment, tools and materials required to perform assigned work. 7.Train other less experienced Structural Fitters, as required. **KNOWLEDGE:** •This position is for well-experienced and fully competent and qualified Structural Fitters that have over 3 years of experience and require minimal supervision to perform the job. •Must be able to climb and work from ladders and scaffolds. •Must pass the required structural fitting qualification tests. •Must exhibit the skills and willingness to perform assigned tasks in a fully competent manner. **Structural Fitter A** As a Structural Fitter, you will work in a team alongside the structural fabrication team to accurately frame structural weldments using engineering drawings. **Opportunities for Additional Premiums:** + Starting pay will include a market adjustment premium of $2 per hour. In addition, there will be cross-training and qualifications-based opportunities to earn up to an additional $3 per hour. . Second shift workers would qualify for another $3 per hour. **Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:** + Perform Manual fit of structural subcomponents to achieve the requirements in the engineering drawing. + Follow documented procedures and standard work to perform safe and defect free operations + Perform carbon arc cutting and gouging + Sanding may be required to prepare and dress welds + Use of common tools measuring and locating tools (tape measure, transit, etc) + Use of forklifts, pallet jacks, jib and overhead cranes to move and position work pieces **Required Qualifications:** + Must be able to pass structural fitter qualification test + Minimum of 3 years of experience in Structural Fabrication + Ability to perform simple computer operations + Be available to work a 1st or 2nd shift + Ability to work overtime to support production demands + Must be able to climb and work from ladders and scaffolds + Ability to work well individually or in a team environment Visa Sponsorship is not available for this position.
