Primary responsibilities of the role are the management of assigned data center construction jobs within the whitespace with data center fit outs. Keep in constant contact with all stakeholders to ensure timely work to keep project on time / within budget. Ensures equipment purchased is in onsite at the project when needed. Maintains a relentless focus on meeting and exceeding customer needs and expectations through the life of the project.

Responsibilities:

Manage and lead assigned projects, from inception to successful completion following project specifications and safety / OSHA protocolsManage multiple projects concurrently, ensure quality delivery on scheduleBuild project plans, scope of work (SOW), bill of materials (BOM), order and track materials, and schedule team members when needed and validate material inventories and appropriate resources are scheduled to make all job timelinesEstablish and manage the critical work environment project objectives, performance standards, planning and Methods of Procedure and be within boundaries of corporate policies to ensure minimization of human error factors which could cause down time during work processesMentor and lead engineers through direct support and indirect effortsPerform hands-on construction tasks as / if needed, including cabinet installation, security caging assembly, and air containment system setupReview assigned projects for accuracy, profitability, and adherence to corporate valuesPerform periodic QA inspections of assigned field projectsParticipate in pre-construction and regular status meetings with customers and other vendors to ensure clear expectations, scopes of workConduct site surveys and validate that plans, materials, and expectations align with conditions and to identify any potential challenges or issuesCollaborate with peers and operations management to ensure project successPrepare all reports and close out documents per job requirementsPoint of contact for customer and team members with urgent needs, including emergency and scheduled maintenance, outages, and quick turn quotingMaintain liaison and actively communicate with external and internal stakeholders, subcontractors and any other vendors needed to facilitate construction activities at the data center job siteKeep abreast of latest industry trends and technologies and continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and enhance efficiencyReview design layout of systems with Revit / AutoCAD for installation

Qualifications:

5- 8+ years of data center / critical facilities infrastructure / whitespace construction including white space and cabling infrastructure designBackground in Space Planning – cabinet installation, racks, power strips, connectivity, structured cabling, telecom network deployment, physical security caging, and air containment systemsFamiliarity with the materials and manufacturers related to data center products, specifically overhead basket tray and supporting trapeze, fiber trough, fiber panels, racks, cabinets, air flow containment, structured cabling, fiber and copper panels, etc.Ability to read and interpret blue-prints, site drawings and diagrams, and all other provided materials - One-lines, Revit or AutoCADExtrapolate requirements to create take off materials including quotes, scope of work (SOW), method of procedure (MOPs and SOPs), etc.Working familiarity with related technologies including air flow management, access control, environmental monitoringWillingness to travel up to 50% of the timeExperience working for a General Contractor or TradePrevious administrative experience managing change orders, billing, creating reports, etc.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong verbal and written communications skills and attention to detailStrong organizational skills and the ability to prioritizePersonable / ability to build rapport with both internal and external customersClient facing /Client relationship / Client Management skillsBelong to local professional organizations – 7x24, AFCOM, Uptime, DataCenterDynamics, Bisnow, BICSI a plus, RCDD a Huge PlusPrevious experience in the Military / Military Veterans a huge plus! Experience with Electrical / Mechanical: Navy nukes - EMN, ETN, MMNs, SeaBees, Army - Power Generation, Air Force – Power Production, Generator Techs, Maritime, Coast Guard, Army National Guard, etc.
