What you’ll do

Electrical:

Participate in Preventative Maintenance Program work such as IR scanning, transformer and motor testing, and protective relay testingHelp with smaller maintenance projects and capital projectsAssist the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor in the fieldData collection, print creation, and review

Instrumentation:

Work with Instrumentation & Electrical Engineers (I/E)Manage small-scale electrical and instrumentation/controls projects installation and upgrade of existing electrical and instrumentationAssist with field support for large-scale instrumentation / electrical projects - PMCS network, substations, and instrumentation and PLC system upgrades

Who you are

Available to begin work on or around May 12th, 2025Legal authorization to work in the United StatesAs this position requires the operation of a motor vehicle, a valid US Driver's License is requiredPrevious experience is considered an assetStrong attitude for carrying out all work in a safe, cautious manner while following safe work practicesStrong verbal and written communication skills

Education 

Must be enrolled in an Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology Undergraduate Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of the intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work termCandidates currently enrolled in either a master’s or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be consideredAvailability for multiple work terms is preferredStrong academic performanceAbility to work 40 hours per week during the scheduled semesterNew graduates are not eligible for student opportunities

     

Working Conditions

May include frequency of travel, sitting, standing, computer work, lifting, driving, working at site, etc. 

Safety Sensitive

This is a safety sensitive role and as such you will also be required to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during required work hoursFurthermore, you will also be required to pass the Cenovus pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol assessment requirementsSafety sensitive positions require the operation of a motor vehicle. A valid US Driver’s License with no restrictions is a requirement for this role

Relocation

Students moving for their work term may be eligible to receive a lump sum payment to assist with relocation expenses
