This Student Assistant position is a front-facing, administrative support role for the Student Affairs Unit within the division of Student Success. This is an exciting opportunity for someone enthusiastic about customer service, engaging visitor experiences, higher education, and administrative operations. Reporting directly to the Senior Office Assistant and the Associate Provost of Student Affairs/Dean of Students, this role will primarily serve as the first contact with visitors to the Student Affairs office and create a welcoming environment. In collaboration with the Student Affairs team, they will coordinate operations of the front desk and lead administrative tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the initial point of contact and Student Affairs representative for students, parents/families, and staff, including referring students to appropriate resources and managing confidential information and interactions Oversee the daily functionality and operation of the Student Affairs front desk and common spaces, including but not limited to maintaining up to date inventory of office supplies Exhibit high levels of professionalism in customer service Greet visitors in a friendly and professional manner Answer the phone and manage incoming voicemail Other duties as assigned
WORK MODE
On-Campus Position – Employees in this position are expected to work on-campus during regularly scheduled work hours due to the nature of the work being that which is not feasible, or not in the best interest of the organization, to be performed remotely.
SALARY RANGE
$17/ hour
Minimum Qualifications: Currently enrolled New School student who qualifies for Federal Work Study Can demonstrate collaboration skills with the ability to work well with diverse populations Can demonstrate ability to work independently on several new, continuing, or routine administrative projects concurrently. Must be able to work in a busy environment while maintaining deadlines, accuracy, and competing priorities Must be able to handle confidential information with utmost discretion Excellent communication skills: interpersonal, written, and verbal
Preferred Qualifications: Relevant experience working in an office or community building environment. Prior experience in customer service
