Job Title Student Assistant - Social Media (Work Study) (Student Success Center) General Description This is a student position responsible for assisting in the operations and activities of a department or a departmental project, program, or function. Job Duties 1. Create graphics for the execution of digital content across various social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)2. Develops and assists with written content for platform-specific social media posts.3. Creates a social media strategy that contributes to achieving the goals of the Student Success Center.4. Stays current with social media trends, tools, and applications.5. Engages with social media audience members (e.g. responds to comments, tagged posts, and messages).6. Analyzes and reports social media actions on a monthly basis for successes and new opportunities.7. Performs other related duties as assigned Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

1. Skill in monitoring social media profiles including Facebook and Instagram.
2. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
3. Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
4. Ability to organize assigned work.
5. Ability to communicate professionally with university faculty and staff, students and the general public.
6. Ability to work independently with general supervision. Required Qualifications The minimum education required for admittance as a student at Stephen F. Austin State University.

No direct experience is required. Training and instruction will be provided. Preferred Qualifications 1. Familiarity with current social media trends and best practices.
2. Familiarity with software or apps commonly used in social media management, such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and platform-specific editing.
3. Familiarity with Americans with Disabilities (ADA) guidelines and how to create accessible content, specifically how to use features within social media platforms to make content accessible.
