Tennessee Tailored at the Thornton Center seeks candidates for one (1) Post-Grad Internship. This position is part of a Young Professional Development Program that prepares young professionals for full-time positions in the Academic Support/Student-Athlete Development profession. Only professionals who have a long-term career interest in Athletic Academic Support should consider applying.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of the Tennessee Tailored operations. The individual in this position will be expected to learn all aspects of what is required to be a great staff member. The Tennessee Tailored staff is committed to developing all skills needed to be a great professional in this field. By the end of their experience, each Young Professional will be able to: Develop and implement programming for student-athletes with a particular emphasis on leadership development, professional development, personal enhancement, and community engagement. Provide guidance to student-athletes in group and one-on-one settings as it pertains to their professional development and career interests. Organize and Implement annual career and professional development events. Coordinate financial literacy education for all student-athletes. Organize and implement a summer micro-internship program. Oversee Honors, Awards and Post-Graduate Scholarship processes. Maintain Tennessee Tailored social outlets and online platform for Student-Athlete Development. Understand and be able to communicate the principles of Tennessee Tailored and Student-Athlete Development program to a wide audience (prospects, coaches, staff, campus partners, etc). Collaborate with campus departments and local employers to identify and implement career programming and leadership opportunities for student-athletes. Proactively connect and engage with campus departments, organizations, faculty, and staff to facilitate a positive working relationship.

Qualifications / Compensation: Master's degree Hourly pay of $21/hour 30 hours per week

Ideal candidates possess: Desire to obtain full-time employment in student-athlete academic support Excellent communication skills; strong work ethic, well organized, self-starter, and self-motivated; willingness to collaborate; ability to prioritize a workload and work under pressure in order to meet deadlines; exhibit a professional disposition
