**POSITION DETAILS**
Hostos/CUNY Unlimited offers students with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to participate in a post-secondary academic, work-based and social inclusion-focused program. The Hostos/CUNY Unlimited Campus Coordinator (Student Disabilities Services Specialist) organizes and manages the day-to-day operations of all academic, social, and work-based activities involving CUNY Unlimited Credential students. The coordinator supports the successful experience of students, from application to graduation, by highlighting their strengths and addressing their needs when selecting courses, social activities and job experiences. The coordinator also acts as liaison to internal departments including academic affairs, student affairs, the business office, career services, and scholarship offices as well as external partnering agencies.
Additional responsibilities include the following:
+ Prepares and edits reports and/or newsletters and develops publication materials for the program.
+ Works in collaboration with the Associate Director of the Accessibility Resource Center and external partners in recruiting new students and promoting inclusive post-secondary education on campus and in the community.
+ Manages day-to-day operations of Hostos/CUNY Unlimited Program.
+ Reviews all new applications with team and support the application process.
+ Works with agency / school district staff to identify and secure appropriate classes, employment and social activities for each student in the Credential.
+ Coordinates individual student schedules and necessary supports, based on person-centered procedures.
+ Organizes, coordinates and oversees tutoring opportunities each semester.
+ Coordinates with Disability Services coordinators and/or external agency provider(s) regarding academic supports.
+ Coordinates with academic advisors, department chairs, program coordinators, and instructors regarding course selection.
+ Coordinates with professors to modify student coursework.
+ Supports and tracks student progression.
+ Participates in team meetings, as well as in periodic report writing and project evaluation.
+ Supervises and supports the peer mentors to fulfill their job duties.
+ Coordinates with Financial Aid(FA) Office and Caregivers regarding filing FA applications and submitting supporting documentation for FA eligibility.
+ Essential duties require on-campus presence.
**This is a temporary position for two years subject to budget approval.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Bachelor's degree and four years' related experience required.
The following qualifications are preferred:
+ Master’s preferred or equivalent experience; alternate assessment preferably in higher education.
+ Program management, experience in supporting people with intellectual disabilities
+ Must be able to observe and support all students in a variety of academic, vocational and social settings on a daily basis.
+ Experience working with students with intellectual disabilities in an academic environmentpreferred.
+ Demonstration of respect and high expectations for people with disabilities and commitment to inclusive education.
+ Experience working and collaborating with students, other professionals, and student family members.
+ Ability to take initiative and work independently.
+ Strong organizational and planning skills.
+ Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
+ Proficient in using Learning Management Platforms and electronic communication tools.
+ Availability to work evenings and weekends when required.
**CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW**
Assists with planning and providing a comprehensive program of services for students with disabilities.
- Assists with daily supervision of the unit, including budgets, personnel supervision, and facilities/equipment management
- Provides guidance and advisement to student organizations, administrators, faculty and others on concerns and issues related to students with special needs
- Interacts with counselors, disability accommodations specialists, and external community organizations to maintain a broad inventory of available services
- Presents programs and workshops, and prepares communications to students and others promoting the goals of the unit
- Organizes and provides for assistive technology and interpretive services
- May develop and/or review individual educational plans that incorporate individually designed academic support services and accommodations within the guidelines of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA)
- Performs related duties as assigned.

$52,267 - $56,447; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
