Location: Rochester, NY Category: Student Employment Posted On: Fri Apr 4 2025 Job Description: Function of Position: Reporting directly to the Environmental Health & Safety Director, this position assists in providing comprehensive environmental health and safety services to achieve Monroe Community College's goal of a safe and healthy workplace and academic environment. Examples of Duties & Responsibilities: Performs specific duties to assist in ensuring compliance of safety programs mandated by National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Department of Labor (DOL). Responsibilities include: + Assist staff in conducting fire drills, inspecting and maintaining fire safety equipment and systems. + Assist with inspection of petroleum bulk storage tanks, silver recovery units, eye washes/ showers and automated external defibrillators (AEDs). + Assist with maintaining updated chemical inventories and safety data sheets. + Assist in conducting general safety inspections of all buildings. + Performing job related duties as required. Job Requirements: Required Qualifications: + Current student at MCC enrolled for degree in a science, technology or environmental health and safety related field of study. + Skilled in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel. + Accurate writing and effective communication skills. + Attention to detail + Must be able to pass a background check.
