The United States Steel Corporation and Carnegie Pension Fund is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Investments Summer Intern to join the Investments team in Pittsburgh, PA. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the asset management industry, working alongside seasoned professionals to support various aspects of asset management and retirement plan administration and analysis.

The intern will operate within a small team that places a strong emphasis on growth and development and where a meaning impact can be achieved. 

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the administration and management of retirement plans, including day-to-day operationsGain a familiarity with institutional investingConduct research and analysis on investments including performance and attribution analysisSupport the preparation of reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholdersCollaborate with team members on special projects related to asset allocation, tactical investments, and implementation of strategiesParticipate in client meetings, taking notes and helping to draft follow-up communicationsMaintain organized documentation and assist with data management tasksParticipate in senior level conversations and decision makingCross functional exposure to human resources, legal and accounting departments


Preferred Qualifications

Candidates must be a full-time studentCandidate must have a minimum GPA of 3.5Preferred entering senior year in Fall 2025Majors: Finance, Accounting, MathematicsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)Willingness to learn investment analysis softwareAbility to work remotely and in the Pittsburgh office as needed

Peer Coach

The intern will report to the Director - Investments, as well as have guidance from other team members. Base Rate: $21/hr.
