Posting Details Posting Information Requisition 202500098ST Title Student Employee- Criminal Justice-Summer Camp Counselor Employee Class Student Employee College Work Study Position No Department Office of the Dean - Criminal Justice Division Division of Academic Affairs Hours per week 28 Hiring Rate Team leaders (graduate students) will receive $15.00 per hour and undergraduate students will receive $10.00 per hour. Preferred Student Classification junior, senior, masters, doctoral Nature & Purpose of Position The College of Criminal Justice is looking for 7-8 counselors to assist with four summer camps. Counselors will be responsible for traveling with students (15-17 years of age) to off-campus field trips (Prison Museum, Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office, Montgomery County Morgue, Walker County Jail), attending meals with students, doing room checks at night, and overall supervising during on-campus presentations. Counselors may be required to spend the night at a residence hall and will work in shifts to cover the entire camp. Camp dates are: Camp I: June 8-12, 2025; Camp II: June 22-26, 2025; Camp III: July 6-10, 2025; July 13-17, 2025.
Other Requirements for the Position pursuing degree in Criminal Justice, Security Studies, Victim Studies, or Forensic Science; good communication skills, knowledgeable about SHSU campus.
