The Office of PittServes within the Division of Student Affairs serves as a catalyst for students and communities to engage in action that creates impactful change. The Student Engagement Coordinator will be joining a team working to realize the vision of achieving resilient and equitable communities and inspire civically minded individuals. The Office of PittServes focuses on engaging and educating Pitt students about civic action, with student leaders key to engaging their peers. Working with partners in the greater Pittsburgh community, as well as on-campus entities, current programs range from (but are not limited to) America Reads and JumpStart, grassroots/neighborhood-led youth mentoring/tutoring programs, campus and community-based sustainability initiatives, Signature Days of Service, alternative break projects, PittVotes, the Student Civic Engagement Council, Civic Fellows, and other partnerships engaging students in community-identified projects.It is every employee's obligation to support the Student Affairs vision: to support the whole student. All employees within the Division will be required to perform duties outside of their department. Additional assignments may include, but are not limited to Welcome Week Activities, Divisional committees, events, etc. Successful candidates will demonstrate a track record of student advising and utilization of student development theory, programmatic development and assessment, and budget management.

The Office of PittServes in the Division of Student Affairs is seeking applications for a Student Engagement Coordinator which will be responsible for the creation and implementation of student community and civic engagement programming. Key projects include oversight of PittVotes, a university initiative supporting student democratic engagement on campus. Additional programs include but are not limited to supervision of the Student Civic Engagement Council, oversight of the Civic Engagement Fellow program, and coordinating the Service to Others Living and Learning Community. This position is responsible for creating and maintaining a welcoming environment for students seeking civic and community engagement opportunities and promoting diversity, inclusion and equity. The Student Engagement Coordinator will also manage a budget following business procedures for finances at the University of Pittsburgh. The incumbent will report to the Assistant Director of the Office of PittServes with oversight from the Director of the Office of PittServes.
