**Position Summary**
The Lands & Recreation Student Helper will assist with recreation administrative and fieldwork, conducting and processing recreation surveys, customer service tasks at Wanapum Dam Visitor Center and shoreline monitoring. The Lands & Recreation Student Helper will develop excellent customer service skills and learn how to interact with the public in a recreational setting, utilize Esri Survey123 software and Microsoft Excel, implement quality practices, engage, and network with teammates and broader organization. Additionally, the Student Helper will be introduced to the customer service philosophy currently used within License Implementation and they will experience a work environment that aims to collect recreation user data to ensure Grant PUD is adhering to the current FERC License. This position will require scheduled weekend field and office work.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
+ Assists with a variety of duties for Grant PUD’s License Implementation programs, including interpretation and education activities, site monitoring and data collection, Grant PUD’s campground reservation system, and responding to the recreation-related emails and phone calls from the public.
+ Assists with other Recreation and Shoreline management programs as assigned.
+ Visit recreation sites and administer face-to-face user surveys.
+ Receives and provides feedback to and from License Implementation supervisors and team members regarding employee’s own performance.
+ Provides recommendations on ways to improve the Student Helper experience.
+ Handles various tasks throughout the day and prioritizes and organizes efficiently; demonstrates a high attention to detail and is task oriented; participates in research and analytics where needed.
+ Supports the various administrative individuals with file and record keeping projects, can assist in the proper handling of documents, files, and records related to record retention.
+ Demonstrated commitment to Grant PUD’s mission, vision, values, strategic plan, and Grant PUD / IBEW Local 77 Code of Excellence. The incumbent should be familiar with these organizational priorities and behave in a way that aligns with these expectations.
+ Understands and adheres to compliance requirements for this position that may include laws, regulations, security guidelines, Grant PUD policies & procedures.
+ May operate a District vehicle.
+ Actively participate in all aspects of our safety program, including but not limited to:
+ Following all safety policies and procedures.
+ Alerting supervisors and coworkers to unsafe or hazardous working conditions.
+ Reporting any safety incidents or close calls within 24 hours to your supervisor.
+ Accepting feedback from supervisors and coworkers regarding your own safety performance
**Education and Experience**
**Required**
+ Must provide proof of and maintain an overall cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher.
+ Must provide proof of and maintain full time student status.
**License and Certification**
**Required**
+ A valid driver’s license with no driving restrictions.
**Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
+ Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures; department polices and procedures.
+ Computer programs, utilize Microsoft Office products.
+ Office environment, administrative tasks, file management.
+ Skill in operating a personal computer and general office equipment.
+ Skill in typing and entering data with speed and accuracy.
+ Organization and prioritization skills.
+ Clear and concise communication skills in writing and verbally.
+ Operate a vehicle in a safe manner by observing legal and defensive driving practices.
