Job Description

This position assists our engineering/drafting team in creating and updating technical drawings, models, and documentation. This internship offers hands-on experience in CAD software, engineering design, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects.

Essential Functions 

Support senior drafters and engineers in creating detailed structural drawings and plansAssist in examining documents such as contract drawings, specifications, and change orders to verify completeness and accuracy of data according to designer’s drawingsUse CAD and Tekla software to produce technical drawingsCollaborate with engineers to interpret design specifications and ensure alignment with project requirementsReview and adjust drawings to meet industry codes, regulations and project standardsAssist in communicating with project team members to coordinate drafting activities and resolve design related issuesAssist in the preparation of design documentation, reports and presentationsLearn and apply industry standards and best practices in structural draftingAdhere to company policies and safety guidelines throughout all tasks and projects

QualificationsCurrently enrolled in a post-secondary degree or equivalent, or certification from trade/technical school in a related disciplineKnowledge of AutoCAD, Tekla and other similar tools is requiredAbility to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, specifications, governmental regulations, drawings and job specificationsAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceAbility to speak effectively with customers
